Emily Fichera
It was the grace, fluidity and athleticism that originally drew Emily to vinyasa yoga; beginning her practice in 1999 and becoming an instructor in 2000. After teaching for numerous studios, in many locales, it is now the meditative and tension relieving aspects that she enjoys most; especially since the birth of her daughter in 2009. Emily uses her soothing voice and warm spirit to set the tone for a calm, moving meditation. She enjoys strong, athletic, slow-flowing movements and sequences which challenge students physically and provide the opportunity to liberate them from their minds. Emily has also been a massage therapist since 2004. It is her absolute pleasure to be able to do something she loves and at the same time help others.
Michelle has been practicing yoga since 2003 and teaching since 2006. She is a certified teacher and registered as a 200 hour RYT through the National Yoga Alliance. Michelle began her yoga practice as a way to stay in shape but she quickly realized that yoga was more than a physical practice. It became a personal path to a bigger lifestyle change. She is a graduate of The Yoga of Energy Flow program directed by Carrie Tyler and Daniel Orlansky. She has studied many forms of yoga including Kripalu, Vinyasa Flow, and Ashtanga. Michelle is an experienced teacher who leads her classes with specific instruction, creative sequencing linking breath with movement, and hands on adjustments. She is known for her compassionate way of teaching and leading a class in a strong athletic flow, using creative movement sequences from the various traditions she has studied. Michelle’s passion is to share her love of yoga with others and lead students to a feeling of exhilaration, peace and inner awareness.
Carter Siegel, M.Ed., RYT 200
Carter Siegel, M.Ed., RYT 200, was certified to teach in 2005 through Yoga Alliance. While she enjoys many styles of yoga, the dynamism and energy of vinyasa -style yoga resonates the most with her. It is through this strong, athletic style of practice that Carter finds peace of mind and strength of body. Carter has been athletic her whole life, playing field hockey, lacrosse, tennis, rowing crew, and running but it has been yoga that has persisted and become the constant force. Carter’s teaching style is clear, descriptive, and intentional. It balances facilitation with flow in a logical and accessible sequence. In addition to the physical practice, Carter teaches how breath and mindfulness contribute to the mind-body connection. Carter is happy to combine two forces she loves at Prasada: yoga and teaching!

Her classes focus on coordination of movement with the breath to build flexibility and strength in connection of body, mind, and spirit. “The goal is to find that inner balance, light, and peace which resides in each of us that will sustain us in all of life’s situations.” She resides in Greenland with her husband, two children, and dog.
“Coming from a physically active lifestyle, I was immediately drawn to the vinyasa style of yoga. At first, it helped me to achieve a physical balance that I could not get from many other disciplines. Only later did I discover the mental and emotional benefits as well. Throughout this journey, what has impressed upon me the most is that yoga empowers you to fully embrace life no matter where you are physically, mentally, or spiritually.”
